2nd ESO - PAST SIMPLE: PRONUNCIATION OF FINAL -ED IN REGULAR VERBS

1. Watch the video about the pronunciation of the final -ED in regular verbs.
2. Now, do exercise 6 on page 13 in your Student's Book and classify the regular verbs from exercise 5 into the three different pronunciation patterns.

Hi all! Remember what we have seen in class about how to express Future tense in English.

We can use three different verbal tenses / structures to do so:

PRESENT CONTINUOUS - is used for arrangements (planes organizados)

(+) Suject + BE (am / is / are) + Verb -ING + Complements

She is visiting her grandma this afternoon

(-) Subject + BE neg (am not/isn't/aren't) + Verb -ING + Complements

She isn't visiting her grandma this afternoon

(?) BE (Am / Is / Are) + Subject + Verb -ING + Complements + ?

Is she visiting her grandma this afternoon? Yes, she is / No, she isn't
When is she visiting her grandma? She is visiting her grandma this afternoon.

BE GOING TO - is used for plans and intentions. It is also used to talk about future events based on evidence

(+) Suject + BE (am / is / are) + GOING TO + Verb infinitive + Complements

She is going to visit her grandma next weekend

(-) Subject + BE neg (am not/isn't/aren't) + GOING TO + Verb infinitive + Complements

She isn't going to visit her grandma next weekend
